Does Goose foie gras need to be in the fridge when you buy it in a can?

My friend brought me a can of 4.5 oz. goose foir gras from France and I have no idea if i need to put it in the fridge.
The can isnt opened yet.

ALSO do you know any good recipe for foie gras?

canned foods rarely need refrigerated before opening-it is the benefit of canned foods. After opening they might need refrigerated, though. Sorry, no recipes.

once it is opened and say you do not use it all, transfer it to a different container and keep it in the fridge
